The WC Veterans in Draughts, held in Szklarska Poręba, concluded with exciting results. Serge Minaux (France) claimed victory in both the Rapid and Blitz tournaments, displaying remarkable skill. In the women’s category, Danuta Skrzyńska (Polska) took first place in the Rapid tournament, while Romualda Sidlauskiene (Lithuania) triumphed in the Blitz. The tournament brought together players from around the world, offering thrilling matches and demonstrating the high level of expertise among veterans. Congratulations to all participants and winners for their excellent performances and sportsmanship throughout the competition.

Last weekend, the 3rd World Championship Veterans 2023 in Rapid took place, attracting top players from around the globe. The winner was Ukrainian grandmaster GMI Rostyslav Lieshchynskyi, who claimed first place with an impressive total of 13 points and better tie-breaks. Finishing in second place was MI Frank Teer from the Netherlands, who also scored 13 points but did not achieve the same tie-break score as Lieshchynskyi. At the 3rd World Championship Veterans 60+ in Korbach, Germany, Rostyslav Lieshchynskyi of Ukraine claimed the gold medal with an impressive 13 points.
