Last weekend, the 3rd World Championship Veterans 2023 in Rapid took place, attracting top players from around the globe. The winner was Ukrainian grandmaster GMI Rostyslav Lieshchynskyi, who claimed first place with an impressive total of 13 points and better tie-breaks.
Finishing in second place was MI Frank Teer from the Netherlands, who also scored 13 points but did not achieve the same tie-break score as Lieshchynskyi. Both players demonstrated exceptional skill, making the competition for the top spots fiercely contested.
MF Peter Van Der Stap from the Netherlands secured third place with 12 points, showcasing his talents in rapid play that earned him a solid position in the tournament.
